Mission Statement:
Care on the Corner is a 501 (c) (3) non- for-profit, whose mission is to help enrich the lives of the people of Northern New Jersey. Through educational programs and the exploration of the arts, it provides opportunities to increase their awareness, creativity and confidence, using a balanced approach to knowledge and visual and performing arts experiences. These efforts aim to inspire families to believe in their ability to accomplish whatever goals they set for themselves.
Our Programs:
• Care on the Corner has offered 35 semesters at 12 weeks each of English as a Second
Language (ESL) serving over 1,492 individuals from 103 countries.
• Care on the Corner has offered 39 productions of Kids on the Corner, a cultural arts
program for 2nd to 6th graders, serving 497 children from 18 communities.
• Care on the Corner has successfully completed 3 of sessions of Summer Tutoring and
the Homework Club; 6 sessions of NewARTS Kids (an applied arts program for
children in grades 1 – 6); 2 sessions of KidZ Fitness; 3 sessions of Middle Eastern
Dancing; 5 seasons planting a Community Garden; and 4 sessions of creating
Container Gardens. In 2017, we introduced Tutoring for Children in the Inclusive Environment and have had 9 sessions.
•In response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Care on the Corner has worked to expand its programming to the digital format. ARTS Today in NJ was launched in the Fall of 2020. This is a performing arts group for children in grades 6 – 9. Their first production was in December 2020. (statistics as of 2020)
